Winter is nature’s pause – a time for stillness, contemplation, and reflection. Just as the trees let go of their leaves and enter a seemingly dormant phase, we are given the opportunity to turn inward. This is not a time of emptiness but of rest and preparation. Beneath the surface, something new is quietly growing, even if it remains unseen.
In my book Moment´s Eternity, I explore winter as a mirror for our inner world. It reminds us of the importance of slowing down and simply being. Winter shows us that it is in the silence we find answers. It asks nothing more of us than the courage to listen to our inner voice.
In the surface of the mirror, the forest takes on another form, where each tree and branch meets its own reflection. Here, in the borderland between reality and shadow, it is revealed that winter’s stillness holds a hidden motion – a quiet preparation for what is yet to come.
The cold clarity of winter helps us see things as they are. Just as the landscape becomes stripped and defined, we can confront our own truth – raw, honest, and beautiful in its simplicity. It also gives us space to let go of what no longer serves us, making room for the new that seeks to emerge as spring returns.
With an image from the book, I invite you to reflect on your own winter. How can you use this time to deepen your connection with yourself and prepare the ground for what will bloom in the seasons ahead?
In the heart of winter, where ice meets moss and silence embraces every step, we find a balance between the past and what lies ahead. The path gently guides us forward, revealing that the courage to continue is also a journey toward inner stillness – where each step carries us deeper into the landscape of peace.
