Have you ever wondered why your pain doesn’t go away, despite all the treatments and medications? What if pain isn’t just a symptom to suppress, but a message from your body, asking to be heard?
In my work as a DNA remembrance healer and TuiNa therapist, I’ve seen how pain is often viewed as something to silence. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), pain is seen differently—as a sign of imbalance in the body’s energy flow. By addressing these imbalances, we can not only relieve pain but also tackle the deeper cause.
At 28 years old, as a new mother, I went from being healthy and full of energy to suddenly being overwhelmed by pain that gradually took over my body. It started with episodes of aching in my hips and back, followed by painful and recurring eye inflammations (iritis-uveitis). At that time, the pain was so intense that standing still was the only thing that gave me relief. Sitting or lying down became a struggle, and every movement felt like a challenge.
When my chiropractor learned about my iritis, he suggested I get tested for ankylosing spondylitis, a chronic inflammatory disease. The tests revealed that I carried the HLA-B27 protein, a genetic marker for the disease, and X-rays showed fusions in both my lower ribcage and sacrum. The seven years leading up to the diagnosis were marked by flare-ups where the pain came and went, with each period of relief followed by another wave of pain and growing frustration.
The doctors told me this was a chronic condition that could possibly be slowed but never cured. The pain and stiffness could worsen over time, and they explained that the fusions could limit both my mobility and breathing. I was prescribed anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medications, and they recommended water therapy.
But something inside me refused to accept this. This isn’t me! I thought. I declined to pick up the medications, knowing, despite all the uncertainty, that this wasn’t the right path for me.
Shortly after the diagnosis, I met an acquaintance who told me about Chinese medicine. He introduced me to TuiNa treatments and a form of exercise called Lian Gong. Before long, I started to notice a change—the pain began to ease, and I gradually regained my mobility. It was as if my body was finally letting go of everything that had kept me trapped in pain.
It wasn’t just the pain that disappeared—I regained full movement in my joints, and I am convinced that the fusions once detected are no longer present.
This journey led me down a new path. I chose to study Chinese medicine and trained as a TuiNa therapist. From being given a “chronic” diagnosis to experiencing total healing, my own journey became a gift—an opportunity to help others find their way out of pain. I now know that pain doesn’t have to be a lifelong prison—there’s always a way out if we listen to our bodies and find the right tools.
Pain is not just a physical sensation—it’s a message from the body. In TCM, pain is viewed as a sign that the flow of energy, Qi, is blocked or out of balance. By identifying and understanding these imbalances, we can begin to heal at a deeper level.
Instead of simply silencing the pain, as we often do with medications, we can see it as a guide, directing us toward where we need to focus our healing. Pain can take many different forms, from sharp pain to dull and aching sensations, and each type has its own unique cause and solution.
Ask yourself: How does your pain feel? Is it sharp, dull, or cramping? By understanding what kind of pain you’re experiencing, you can find the right treatment to not only heal the symptoms but also address the root cause.
As a TuiNa therapist and DNA Remembrance healer, I combine multiple techniques and holistic methods to help you restore balance to your body. Whether you're struggling with chronic pain or stress-related tension, I offer personalized treatments that reconnect you with your body’s natural healing abilities.
I invite you to book a session where together we can begin your journey toward a life free from pain.
Facts about Ankylosing Spondylitis
Ankylosing spondylitis, also known as Mb Bechterew, is a "chronic" inflammatory disease that primarily affects the spine and pelvic joints. It causes pain, stiffness, and inflammation, often associated with the genetic HLA-B27 protein. Over time, it can lead to fusions in the spine, reducing mobility. Traditional treatments include anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medications, along with physical therapy such as water exercises and stretches to improve mobility and relieve symptoms.
